#nightreign Ignore my massive skill issue in the first phase. Not even the bosses fault I was just playing like an idiot LMAO. ——— Add me on Steam! Username: Enhanced Adel Friend Code: 1083384879 ——— Originally, this was going to be a negative video that had a negative thumbnail and title but that just didn't sit right with me. So i want to take a more positive approach. This boss is good, dare I say really good. Hot take, right? His moveset is easy to learn and understand, has no BS mechanics that make him a chore (surely), and is overall a very clean fight. His attack are mostly well telegraphed with mostly good hitboxes which lend to what is an overall good fight but... that's kind of it? Now for me negatives, the biggest one being that once you learn the boss... that's it. What do I mean? Well, the fight simply lacks skill expression. It's a simple, generic moveset that is easy to learn but offers not much else outside of it. The same way I fought him 300 rounds ago is the same way I fight him now and will remain the same 300 rounds from now. I appreciate a good moveset, but I much prefer a good moveset with lots of skill expression and things to learn as you fight it more. That's why I love Everdark Adel, Pest, Dreglord, Libra so much. Each of these guy's have had so many things to learn about their movesets and little quirks to them that once understood make the fight so much more fun. For example: Adel's Triple Headslam dodge when right beneath him and positioning yourself properly to punish his lunge attack. Pest has a lot of strafes and two entirely unique movesets you can experiment with. Faurtis's enhanced moveset is so much fun to jump and strafe. Dreglord has a ton of strafes and jumps. Did you know you can jump the attack where he slams his hand into the ground and pulls you in? Libra's Gold Phase is incredibly fun once you learn how to position yourself and deal with everything correctly. It is never not satisfying surviving that entire phase without getting hit. Even on Adel I still feel like I am constantly learning ways to better position myself for attacks and learning new punish windows. Just recently I found a new punish window and I have around 900 kills on this guy. Fulghor has... the 10-hit combo strafe, but that's really it. Adding onto this, base Fulghor has plenty of fun jumps and strafes you can do with his goopy arm but he just loses that in phase 3 for an extremely generic moveset that offers nothing. That's also not mentioning just how incredibly awkward his punish windows are if you play a spellcaster. This guy has a common boss problem where randomly he can just start to "aura walk" and not doing anything but the difference with Fulghor is that he has this incredibly obnoxious reaction check arrow attack. Sometimes he'll end and attack, walk a bit and you'll think to yourself that you can punish it but NOPE! Reaction check arrow shot. This could be on me but god man it just does not feel good in the slightest. He also has a garbage arrow rain attack that can easily put you in an incredibly awkward position for follow-up attacks, most notably the 10-hit combo. Speaking of 10-hit combo, this attack is just such a nothing attack. Half of it you're just watching him attack the air. Definitely a nitpick, but something I felt like mentioning regardless. Anyway, that's all to say that I still like the boss and think it's good for what it is but that's it. It's just good. I don't want to invalidate other people's feelings because at the end of the day, it's all subjective and I'm not here to ruin that, I only want to express my thoughts. ——— 0:00 - Day 1 14:34 - Day 2 30:12 - Day 3 32:33 - Everdark Sovereign Fulghor
