Paul talks with painter and retired USD art faculty Jeff Freeman.

Today I will be talking with Professor Emeritus of Art, Jeff Freeman. Professor Freeman joined the Art Faculty at the University of South Dakota in 1980. He taught Painting, Color Studies and Graduate Seminars in the Department of Art. Jeff retired from the University of South Dakota in 2011 after 31 years of teaching. Professor Freeman is the recipient of numerous awards and grants. Among them are the National Endowment for the Arts, Arts Midwest-National Endowment for the Arts, The South Dakota Arts Council and the General Research Council of the University of South Dakota. He has shown in over 40 solo exhibitions and numerous juried and group shows both nationally and internationally. In addition he has given workshops and lectures on art in locations as far reaching as Washington and Lee University of Lexington, Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, The University of California-Los Angeles, and Tianjin Art Academy of the People’s Republic of China. Professor Freeman’s work is included in the collections of The Joslyn Art Museum, Omaha, Nebraska; The Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery, Lincoln, Nebraska; and numerous other private and corporate collections as well as Art Centers and Universities throughout the country and overseas.
