Once you exit the Hirafu Gondola, the entrance to Miharashi, one of the biggest in-resort off-piste areas in Niseko, is right there, to your right. Then you look up. What you see is an uphill hike, which is enough for many people to say, "Nah, I'm not hiking". The hike is actually not so steep and takes only 5 to 10 minutes. But it’s enough to deter many people from going up, which is also why, even on a crowded day, it doesn’t get tracked out as quickly as the Strawberry Fields in Hanazono. I’ve gone there many times in the late afternoon, even during pre-Covid days, and found fresh tracks. Wherever you go, you’ll eventually get out on the Family Course. To make this run the longest and steepest as possible, however, you need to pinpoint one of three glades, which is not that easy even if you’ve been there several times.
