The News Chopper 5 can be seen flying to mercy hospital to check if any survivors have made it. It can be seen twice. One, at the beginning of the map near the gas station. Two, at the end of the map, in front of the hospital. Though the second time you see him, it looks like he's landing and picking up survivors which could explain why he takes so long to pick us up in the finale, it could also explain how he got infected. Maybe the survivors he picked up had the flu? Anyway, enough theory crafting. I can't find much on the internet that acknowledges this easter egg so I'm uploading this video to spread awareness.
