Just a few miles south of Berlin in Germany lies an abandoned facility that was once the Soviet Army's biggest base in East Germany. Known as The Forbidden City, the base in Wünsdorf was home to thousands of Red Army soldiers from 1945 until the last Soviet troops left in the early 1994 following the end of the Cold War and the reunification of Germany. It was called the “Forbidden City” since no East Germans were allowed in the city itself. Unlike occupation forces in west Germany (US, UK etc.) the Soviet troops were mostly confined to isolated bases and only officers were allowed to leave to visit nearby towns. Spoken language in Swedish, subtitles in English. In this video we enter the "Haus der Offiziere" (The house of the officers) to explore a mural in the officers' building. This is yet another episode of our journey exploring the area. Expect more to come. The footage is from May 2017. Equipment: Sony A7s mk1, Sony 28-135mm f4, Røde wireless audio, Sennheiser lav. All handheld. DJI Phantom 3a Music Epidemic Sound: "Drama in heaven 12" by Merlean
