Many herbs are slow growing and/or don't get very big and can be started early in the year. Yesterday I got 10 different herbs started. Some of the herbs I've grown before and others are new or have never tried growing from seed. I grouped them by days it takes to germinate and sowed several seeds in each cell/container. 10-21 day group: oregano, cumin, marjorum, 7-15 day group: lemon mint, valerian, lemongrass, Light required to germinate: chamomile, lemon balm, Rosemary takes 14-21 days and lavender takes 18-28 days so they went in their own containers since the germination time is so long.
