A driving law created in the memory of an 8-year-old child may be at risk. Addy's law was created after 8-year-old Adalynn Pierce was attempting to get on her school bus one morning but was tragically hit and killed. Former lawmaker Lauren Daniel created the law to help Addy's family channel their pain into a mission, but that law could soon be changed. The law also asks school districts to consider not having bus stops near speed limits equal to or greater than 40 miles an hour. In most cases if a driver is behind a school bus with its extended stop arm, they must stop. If not the driver, due to Addy's law, makes them pay the price. “I never imagined that after we had it signed into law, we would have to fight to keep it there,” Daniel said.
