The mouth is also called the oral cavity or buccal cavity, it is the first part of the GI tract in the digestive system. The mouth contains accessory organs like teeth, salivary glands, and the tongue. It has 2 cavities, one smaller anteriorly, the oral vestibule, and larger posteriorly the oral cavity proper. Oral vestibule bounded anterolaterally by lips and cheeks and posteriorly by teeth and gums.
