Most surfers think trimming is about going faster, but that is only part of the story. In this video, we break down trim stance, the position that allows you to move efficiently across the wave and, more importantly, control your speed. Sometimes you need to accelerate, sometimes you need to slow down, and sometimes the best thing you can do is nothing at all. Trim stance is what gives you that control. You will learn how small adjustments in your stance can completely change the way you move across the wave, helping you stay in the right place at the right time. In this video you will learn: • What trim stance really is and why it is often misunderstood • How to control your speed instead of just trying to generate it • How your stance should change compared to carving or turning • Where your feet should be positioned for better balance and flow Key trim stance principles: • Feet slightly narrower than when carving or turning • Front foot positioned closer to the middle of the board, especially when learning • Weight slightly forward with hips moving toward the front foot • Arms relaxed by your sides, with each arm aligned over its rail • Eyes looking up toward the lip to read what is coming next This video builds on Episode 1, where we introduced a new way of thinking about surf stance and why most surfers have been taught it incorrectly. If you want more control, better flow, and to stay connected to the wave, mastering trim stance is the next step. 👉 Work with us in Costa Rica Book your surf coaching: https://www.tentoessurf.com/ 👉 Message us on WhatsApp Direct contact: https://wa.me/50688436950 👉 Follow us on Instagram Daily surf tips, clips & progression: / tentoessurf
