This old video shows another phaco rhexis in an intumescent white cataract that had an unusually large nucleus. The posterior liquid compartment must have been very large as the rhexis was difficult to control even after aspirating all the anterior cortex. Excessive contact time with trypan blue had also made the capsule friable. The initial close up of the cataract clearly show water droplets below the anterior capsule, liquid clefts and a central liquid canyon, all features of a 2 compartment hyper mature cataract. Capsulorhexis was done by the phacorhexis technique.
