Dr. Sheetal Mandor posted in the hospital says that three doctors should be posted in the Primary Health Center for better treatment. Six posts of health workers are sanctioned in the hospital, while only four workers are working here at present. Three posts of staff nurse are also vacant. There is no lab technician posted in the hospital, due to which pathology tests are not being done. There is only one ANM posted, but her duty is also in the field. On an average 80 deliveries every month, 30 percent cases have to be referred According to the hospital administration, an average of 80 deliveries are taking place in the hospital every month. Only normal deliveries are being done here. If there is a serious case, it has to be referred. About 30 percent cases are being referred out of the hospital every month. The hospital currently has only 10 beds available. This number is very less considering the number of patients. According to the hospital administration, pregnant women have to be kept admitted for three-four days. In such a situation, 10 beds are very less. A letter has been written to the government to increase the beds. Let us tell you that most of the patients in the health center Chhakatla come from the hilly areas of the region. Patients have to face a lot of trouble when they are referred from here. There is currently a shortage of beds in the Primary Health Center Chhakatla as compared to the number of patients.
