Various of refugees waiting at bus stop STORYLINE: It's a cold and rainy morning on the Ukraine Polish border and refugees fleeing war are now arriving in far fewer numbers than past weeks. Those arriving in Poland Saturday told of the destruction and despair in towns in the east of the country. "They are killing civilians. They are hitting villages," said Volodymyr Bondarenko, a refugee from the Donetsk region. "Our grandmother lives in a village, one shell hit near with her home and that's it, she cannot live there anymore. My flat in the city was damaged, I cannot live there too." Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned his people early Saturday that retreating Russian forces were creating "a complete disaster" outside the capital as they leave mines across "the whole territory," including around homes and corpses. He issued the warning as the humanitarian crisis in the encircled city of Mariupol deepened, with Russian forces blocking evacuation operations for the second day in a row. Meanwhile, the Kremlin accused the Ukrainians of launching a helicopter attack on a fuel depot on Russian soil. =========================================================== Clients are reminded: (i) to check the terms of their licence agreements for use of content outside news programming and that further advice and assistance can be obtained from the AP Archive on: Tel +44 (0) 20 7482 7482 Email: [email protected] (ii) they should check with the applicable collecting society in their Territory regarding the clearance of any sound recording or performance included within the AP Television News service (iii) they have editorial responsibility for the use of all and any content included within the AP Television News service and for libel, privacy, compliance and third party rights applicable to their Territory.
