200 Year Old Off Grid Cottage!

Hi folks, Welcome to another week here in County Leitrim, Ireland. We are a family of four: Sam, Bec, Isabella (13), and Euan (12). We relocated from the UK in 2023 to begin renovating a derelict traditional stone Irish cottage with a history dating back to 1790. Sam is Irish by birth and currently serves as a firefighter in our local town. We have two donkeys, Tilly and Toby; five chickens; a cockerel named Arlo; four rescue cats, Felix, Jasper, Otis, and Onyx; and two dogs, Benji the Chihuahua and Nell the Border Collie. This week, the cottage will finally receive its first fix electrical wiring, and the plasterboards & hot water cylinder will arrive. We also need to finalize our decision on whether to remain off-grid for our electricity or connect to the ESB network. It has been a difficult decision, and we have changed our minds many times over the past 18 months living here. The vegetable patch is also progressing well.
