He graduated in economic management from CNAM Paris and holds a doctorate in management sciences at the University of Bordeaux in1989, he worked as deputy branch manager of the Cameroon Bank from 1976 to 1979. In 1987, he founded the Caisse commune d'épargne et d'investissement. Its equity is valued at + 110 billion FCFA. In February 2006, the same year he opened the PK Fokam Institute of Excellence, he created a television channel in London. He is also the promoter of the online television Vox Africa, which has been broadcasting from London since January 2008. He founded a private university in Yaoundé: the PKFokam Institute of Excellence. Afriland First Bank created by Paul Fokam, is a Cameroonian full-service bank. The Community Growth Mutuals (MC2) created by itself is a network of micro-banks sponsored by Afriland. All these achievements have earned the native of Baham to be ranked in 2020 the richest man in French-speaking Africa, detronating Baba Danpullo. That same year he was nominated as an economic personality at the first edition of the CamerounWeb Awards.
