New evidence suggests that a deadly explosion at an Iranian girls' school on 28 February 2026, resulted most likely from a United States airstrike. Investigative researchers identified the weapon used as a Tomahawk cruise missile, a munition primarily used by American forces in the region. Although President Donald Trump initially blamed Iran for the disaster, internal government sources and satellite data increasingly indicate U.S. culpability. The incident resulted in the deaths of at least 165 people, the vast majority of whom were children. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trump hit a compassionate note on the plight of Iran's women football players who feared for their lives after some of them refused to sign the national anthem. He urged Australia to give them asylum and even suggested the US would do so if Australia didn't. Trump's own policies though have not quite followed supporting those who seek asylum. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Governments around the world are stepping up efforts to keep minors off social media and adult-oriented online services — and new age-verification technologies are at the centre of the debate. In San Francisco, identity-verification company Persona is testing how easily people can trick digital age-check systems. CEO Rick Song demonstrates some of the surprising tactics users — especially teenagers — might use to bypass scanners, including fake facial hair, masks, and even holding action figures in front of a camera. As concerns grow over teen mental health, online abuse, and AI-generated child exploitation content, regulators in countries like Australia, the United Kingdom, and across Europe are pushing stricter age-assurance requirements. The United States is also weighing new policies, with lawmakers increasingly exploring ways to enforce age limits on digital platforms. Persona’s technology helps companies verify users through ID checks, biometric scans, and fraud-detection tools. But Song says designing these systems involves a delicate balance: collecting enough information to accurately verify age while protecting privacy and maintaining ease of access. “A system that’s absolutely bulletproof collects way too much. And a system that does nothing is also problematic,” Song says. As regulators consider stricter global standards and platforms test compliance, the battle between privacy, technology, and child protection is intensifying — raising key questions about how far companies should go to prove who users really are online. =================================================================== Join StratNews Global's WhatsApp Channel to get the latest updates: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Vb1W...
