Russia’s Putin meets Malaysian King Sultan Ibrahim at Kremlin; Discusses boosting bilateral ties

The Russian President Vladimir Putin met with King of Malaysia Sultan Ibrahim on August 6 in Kremlin. The Monarch is on a state visit to Russia, the first since 1967 when Malaysia established the diplomatic relations with the former Soviet Union, Malaysian media reported. After the official welcome ceremony, Putin and Ibrahim held talks attended by officials from both nations. The two leaders discussed the further development of bilateral relations as well as international and regional matters, Russian presidential press service said. On August 8, Sultan Ibrahim is scheduled to travel to Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan to meet the regional leader Rustam Minnikhanov.
