In this review i wanted to address a question I was asked on many occasions, is it worth buying a RTA or RDA tank if you are happy enough with a stock coil/tank setup, is it really worth the time and effort in mounting the coils and wicking for the added flavour and a longer lasting coil especially with N.E.T e-liquids. So after a year & 4 months of searching for the best flavour set up, for my N.E.T's & fruit e-liquids, I chose a few out of my now fairly big selection in regards of pro’s & con’s, as follows, RDA & RTA The Goat RDA / Squonk. The Pros are, awesome flavour, easy to wick/ clean/replace coil head long lasting coil. Cons, e-liquid consumption is massive, need to re- wick & clean coil weekly, if not carful you can flood the deck by squonking too much. (after a few times you learn how much & how often to squonk) The Gear RTA, by OFRF. The Pros are, top flavour on fruity/sweet/desserts flavours, easy to wick & prime coil. Cons, need to refill tank often even with the bubble glass. DTL only so must lower the nicotine level, need to re-wick & clean coil weekly. EHPro True MTL RTA. The Pros are, amazing flavour, best MTL drew, nice looking tank, good machinery, easy deck layout. Cons, needs to be wicked properly and if not done properly the result is a leaking tank & gurgling The right way is not to have too much cotton just enough to insert in the coil without much resistance & cut just enough to reach the top of the reservoir that circles the base & not to saturate the cotton after wicking, only squirt a bit on top of the coil to get it started, the cotton will suck up the liquid when you fill up the tank and left for a few minutes. VapeFly Galaxies MTL RTA. The Pros are, amazing flavour, true MTL drew if you keep one air flow adjuster on 2 & the other on 4, nice looking tank, good machinery. Cons, needs to be wicked properly, otherwise the result is dull flavour, a bit fiddley when it comes to installing a coil and can only be mounted coil down & legs up on most ready-made coils, fiddley air flow adjustment wheels & easily moved out of place. GeekVape Ammit MTL RTA. The Pros are, top air flow design & adjustable to enable a very good MTL drew, very easy deck to coil, good machinery,4ml tanks capacity (without bubble glass) very good flavour. Cons, if you over saturate the cotton prior to assembling the tank the liquid will flow up the chimney to the mouthpiece, the tank must be empty before changing coil or wicking. Kayfun Prim MTL RTA is the best MTL tank I ever vaped on, the flavour is amazing, easy to install the coil & wicking, the machinery is flawless and it looks & oozes quality!! Cons….the price!!!That is it. Uwell Crown 4 DTL kit, The pros, Flavour is awesome on any coil 0.4ohm/0.2ohm especially on the 0.23 Mesh coil, very easy plug in coil & vape, flawless finish & machinery, airflow is excellent, mod feels very comfortable in the hand. Cons it is a bit heavy over 300g with 2 batteries and full tank. And my good old stock coils MTL favourites, (as a rule with all stock coil, it needs changing every few days to keep flavour at maximum.) Aspire X tank with 0.6 PockeX stock coil. The Pros are, good flavour on my tobacco e-liquids, easy to clean & change coil, extension 4ml glass available, coils are widely available. Wismec CB 80 kit with Amor Pro Tank with the MTL 1.3 / DTL 0.2 ohm coil. The Pros are, easy topfill, very good flavour on fruity e-liquids or synthetic tobacco, the 0.2 ohm DTL coil produces awesome flavour without too much e- liquid consumption, easy to clean & change coil, coils are widely available. Smok priv M17 kit with 0.6ohm coil. Pros are, easy topfill, very good flavour, easy to clean & change coil, coils are widely available, small & light stealthy kit. The Aspire Nautilus 2 MTL tank with 0.7 ohm coil & Innokin Zenith MTL tank with 0.8ohm or the 0.5 mesh coil are more or less the same as above except the filling mechanism on the Aspire 2 (2S has a topfill design & 0.4 ohm coil for DTL) and the lack of the ability to properly clean the Zenith. The Innokin T18E & V2 & T20S are good starter kit and only have a disadvantage of changing coils when your tank is full with e-liquid. My conclusion is, find a good MTL stock coil kit for your higher nic tobacco liquids and/or a good DTL stock mesh coil kit for the lower nic fruity e-liquids,and stick to it!! in the long run it makes a vaper's life easier. But it is worth considering buying a good MTL RTA for tobacco e-liquids or DTL RDA for fruity e- liquids, & for the satisfaction of tasting the full spectrum of the flavours for those special e-liquids.
