Moto Corse Performance tuner Chris Boy rose to the challenge of building a racing Ducati Scrambler by starting with a Monster 1100 EVO engine with 1123 big bore kit, and we have the video to prove it. Read between the lines of any Scrambler Ducati road test and you'll realize the trick machine needs more power. Mike Eaton of Hero Clean cleaning products thought so too, and since he already raced Moto Corse Performance machines, he called MCP boss Chris Boy about his street bike's "problem." A project was born. And if you know Boy—the Energizer bunny who builds Ducati, Bimota and NCR race bikes for his customers and then beats them on the track—you have an inkling of how cool Eaton's Scrambler is. At the New Jersey AHRMA round, I had a chance to run the Hero Clean Scrambler around the track and then the backroads of New Jersey, plus talk to Boy about the extensive build. The power is immediate at any rpm above idle, and it screamed into the rev limiter with no sign of slacking off; the slightly taller rear shock was a big help in lightening the steering. Enjoy the video, because I certainly enjoyed the bike. I also made a quick list of the parts Moto Corse massaged and the few parts they left stock: Modified: Ducati Monster 1100 EVO engine with 1123 big bore kit The EVO engine cases had to be disassembled and custom machined to fit in the Scrambler frame.
