The murder-suicide in Taman Perak yesterday, which claimed the lives of a 30-year-old woman and her four-year-old daughter, was believed to have been triggered by the woman's distress stemming from relationship issues. A suicide note recovered at the scene revealed that the woman apologised and expressed her inability to cope with her emotional suffering. The woman also thanked her friends and clarified that they had nothing to do with her decision. Earlier, it was reported that officers arrived at the house around midnight to find the factory worker hanging from a ceiling fan in a bedroom, while her daughter was found dead on a mattress nearby. Her seven-year-old son survived after an attempt on his life failed. He was found with marks on his neck and injuries to his jaw. Kulim police chief Superintendent Zulkifli Azizan said the case is being investigated under Sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempted murder) of the Penal Code.
