This causes the foreskin to gather like a tight rubber band, and may slow or stop blood flow to the tip. Treatment: Potential options include applying a local anesthetic gel to the penis, to reduce pain and inflammation, then pressing on the glans while pushing the foreskin forward. If the foreskin does not return to its original position, another treatment option is for a surgeon to cut the foreskin to release it. In extreme cases, an urgent circumcision may be necessary.
