Canada’s House of Commons returned from summer recess on Monday, with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and opposition leader Pierre Poilievre challenging one another on housing affordability, carbon pricing and cost of food. “After this summer that these Liberals have had, even the prime minister must admit that he's not worth the cost,” Poilievre said. “He panicked when he plummeted in the polls and reinforced recycled promises that he [had] broken six years earlier.” After question period ended, Trudeau made the surprise announcement that Canadian security agencies have linked the killing of high-profile Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar back in June to the government of India.
