Homophobia and Transphobia in the Metal Community // Video Essay

The concept of homophobia and transphobia has been a hot button topic for quite some time, but how does it relate to the metalsphere? In this video, I go over some of the thing I've noticed and my own opinions on the topic, in an attempt to platform some very serious issues that I do not think people like to look in the face, but should genuinely consider. Politically, it's easy to write off opinions as 'just having your own beliefs', but the negative beliefs people hold are oftentimes based in heavy judgment and viewing others in an inferior light due to the extreme 1% of cases and media coverage. From the treatment of transgender/gnc/enby people, or how people treat gay/lesbian/bi/pan stereotypes in this community, I wanted to talk about this because I truly do feel like it is important. I think being intolerant goes against the very foundation of what this community should otherwise stand for.
