Exploring LAKE BLED and hiking VINTGAR GORGE in ONE DAY! (Is this the PRETTIEST PLACE IN SLOVENIA?)

On this episode of Mapping It, we spend the day exploring Lake Bled, Slovenia, and hiking Vintgar Gorge. We begin with an early morning walk around Lake Bled to enjoy the sunrise. Later in the morning, we hike through Vintgar Gorge and it’s like walking through a magical, mystical, faerie land! After getting thoroughly sunburnt on the walk back to our car, we stop by the Park Hotel on Lake Bled for some delicious Bled Cream Cake, or Kremsnita. In the afternoon, we take a pletna boat out to explore Bled Island and enjoy some refreshing gelato. By the time we return to Bled town, we haven’t had a decent meal all day and we are showing definite signs of hanger, so we stop for dinner at Ostarija Peglez’n and are wow’d by the food! We try squid stuffed with cheese and ham, and a mixed grilled meat platter, both of which we can highly recommend! To wrap up our day, we catch the last rays of sunset at Bled Castle with fantastic views overlooking the lake. We hope you enjoy coming along on our adventures!
