Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot! Great day to fly and we have a slew of news coming out of the unexpected Tesla All Hands meeting last night which, for the first time ever, was live streamed for the public! A lot of ground was covered in the All-Hands meeting, so I dedicated a decent amount of time in the intro to go over many of the highlights that pertain to Giga Texas, but I recommend you watch the full live stream on Tesla’s site on X as there was too much information to cover here. Timestamps: Drone flight overview with discussion & illustration: 0:06 to 6:16 Drone flight footage & infographics: 6:37 to 35:22 In the video intro, I covered many highlights form the Tesla All-Hands meeting which was a very positive, forward-looking discussion by Elon Musk about the comp-any, its future, big successes this past year, including the Model Y again being the most sold vehicle of any kind world-wide and the successful transition from the old to the new Model Y in four factories across three countries. Telsa again expects the Model Y to be the best-selling car world-wide in 2025, which shows a lot of confidence! Other big news items I cover coming out of the All-Hands meeting was Elon talking about his purchase of about 600 acres of land just south of Giga Texas. Although I have reported this over the past 2 years, not many people paid attention to what I had been reporting and last night, Elon confirmed what I have been saying. This land is on the south side of the Colorado River and is currently a horse-riding training school. It contains all the horse school structures and a large lake that forms the eastern boundary of Giga Texas’ property and is near where the Ecological Paradise public space will be constructed. Elon mentioned his plans for this area and the potential location for his home, at some point. In the meantime, this land is being leased back to the horse-riding school for 5 years, of which 2 of those years have already passed. Production of 4680s seems to be going well, with more expansion in the form of new equipment arriving and being installed to support the dry cathode batteries that were announced last summer but are now confirmed ready for production. In addition, Telsa confirmed the 4680s were now the most cost-effective batteries in the world, which is a major accomplishment! Discussions related to battery production included the Lithium Plant near Corpus Christi and the Cathode Plant here at Giga Texas, with the potential for making Anodes here as well. Tesla also confirmed Cybercab production will happen at Giga Texas later this year, ramping up to full speed production in 2026. Once the production rates are at full speed, Telsa mentioned a new Cybercab will be produced every 5 seconds! This is a remarkable rate that is 7 times faster than the current record for Model Ys at Giga Shanghai and will require the use of the unboxed processes Telsa previously discussed and a near 100% robotic assembly line. Telsa also announced Optimus Robots have been produced in their California production site and that for 2025, they are targeting a minimum of 5,000 robots, with the potential for up to 12,000 based on parts inventory. This should ramp up to about 50,000 next year. Finally, Tesla reaffirmed Optimus will be built at Giga Texas later this year as well! Cortex 1.0 on the south end of the factory is operating with 50,000 NVIDIA H10-0 GPUs btu this will double later this year and into 2026. To do this, Cortex 2.0, currently under construction on the north end will allow for this expansion, as will the new Megapack and 2X increased electrical switchyard, both of which are underway along with the new Central Campus Support Facilities that will house Cortex 2.0.
