Chartres is a city in France, on the river Eure, prefecture (administrative center) of the Eure et Loire department. Located 96 km from Paris on the Beauce plain. During the Gallic period, Chartres was the capital of the Carnutes tribe, and the city is named after them. Chartres was destroyed almost to the ground during the raids of the Norman tribes and became the capital of the county from the tenth century. Now it is the administrative center of the district of Beauce, known throughout the world for its magnificent Cathedral, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is considered to be the finest and best preserved Gothic cathedral in France and Europe, with the greatest architectural purity. Since 876, the Holy Shroud of the Virgin Mary has been kept in Chartres. * Roadmaps of the walking tour: Part 1: https://goo.gl/maps/7SHDjCoWQ3vmztGf9 Part 2: https://goo.gl/maps/jUBTTGKQmgipbWs48 ____________________________________ ❤️ If you like our videos, you can ❤️: 1. - 👍✅ Subscribe to be notified about our next videos: / @labellefrance 2. - 📨💝 Send us a Super Thanks (a heart under each video on the right side) 3. - ✊🤩 Support us with a donate - ☕https://www.buymeacoffee.com/LaBelleF... 🔥 All your Super Thanks💝, donates 💰, subscriptions 🔔, likes 👍, comments 💬 or suggestions 🤔 are highly appreciated and will help us to continuously improve our channel content. 🔥 ____________________________________ 00:00 ► Intro 01:06 ► Beginning of the Walking Tour from the Place de la Poissonnerie & the Salmon House - half-timbered house, so called for the carved wooden salmon on its facade.
