Then we compare the current Chinese "invasion" of cheap VHF/UHF radios to what happened when Japan started shipping ham rigs to the US (and the world) around 1970. If you don't recall, the US manufacturers.... all of them... either quit, sold out, or just stopped making ham equipment.
