This pepper came from one of my two Bhutlah Scorpion plants that I started from seeds purchased from Jim Duffy at Refining Fire Chiles. My seeds were for the Red Bhutlah Scorpion - one of my plants decided to throw Caramel/Dark Burgundy colored pods. When I shot this review, I was reluctant to call this a "Caramel" variant because I did not yet have any other ripe pods on the plant and I wanted to be cautious rather than rushing to the conclusion that I had a new variant. As the season progressed, all of the pods on this plant ripened to the same Caramel color and as far as I am aware, I am currently the only grower who ended up with this variant. Yes, I did save seeds and I will be growing it out next year to see if it repeats. Now, for the pepper itself - as is typical with Bhutlahs and Bhutlah variants, it is extremely hot
