I'm tackling a touchy subject: false advertising and poor service. Dentists are being encouraged to keep all patients in-house and not refer to specialists. Sometimes they do that by implying they have training they do not have. You are free to choose your doctor but make sure you know who & what you are choosing. Ask your doctor about their credentials! Are they a true specialist as recognized by the ADA? What will they do if there is a problem or complication? How will you find them? Will they refer you elsewhere? Finally, does your oral surgeon have full hospital privileges if you need hospitalization or do they plan to pass you off to the ER and whoever the ER can find?
