Key Highlights: Total Forest and Tree Cover: India's combined forest and tree cover is 8,27,357 square kilometers, accounting for 25.17% of the country's geographical area. This includes: Forest Cover: 7,15,343 square kilometers (21.76%). Tree Cover: 1,12,014 square kilometers (3.41%). Increase Since 2021: There has been an overall increase of 1,445 square kilometers in forest and tree cover compared to the 2021 assessment.
