President Anura Kumara Dissanayake ceremoniously inaugurated Sri Lanka’s first historical wax museum today (July 17) at the Ehelepola Walawwa premises in Senkadagala, Kandy. This landmark cultural attraction features life-size wax figures of 36 prominent individuals associated with the final era of the Sinhala monarchy. The museum is the realization of a concept proposed by the Hon. Diyawadana Nilame of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, Pradeep Nilanga Dela, and aims to enhance the cultural and historical appreciation of both local and international visitors.
