It is about 42 km northeast from the town of Sliven, 13 km south from the town of Kotel, 8 km southeast from the village of Zheravna, 109 km northwest from the town of Burgas and 346 km east from the city of Sofia. There is convenient transportation - buses to Sliven and Kotel. Katunishte Village is located in the Eastern Balkan Mountains at 457 meters above sea level. Neikovska River passes through the village. Winters are short and mild, and summers are cool. Its population is approximately 30 people. The village has a community center. There is cable TV, Internet and mobile phone coverage. Currently in Katunishte there are as several ecohouses acting as hotels, a restaurant, cafe and shops. The village is a national architectural reserve. All houses are fully in Renaissance style. Here is the church "St. Trinity", built in the 19th century. Around the village are the areas Lisichi Dol, Valkov Chair, Sredoryaka and others. In the area of ​​the village Gradets standing still the walls of the old Roman Kale, positioned at strategic vantage point of all passages to the site. Below it passes Kamchia River, which is suitable not only for fishing but also for sunbathing. In the area you can visit the world famous architectural reserve Zheravna / 8 km northwest / and Medven / 10 km northeast / that are part of a hundred tourist sites of the Bulgarian Tourist Union.
