Today I am discussing a new treatment of Type 2 Diabetes discovered in China. On April 30 doctors from China released a news claiming to cure a 59 years old type 2 diabetic. This diabetic treatment involves use of stem cell therapy. In this diabetes treatment for type 2 diabetics patient's own blood cells are transformed into stem cells and later into pancreatic islet cells that secrete insulin. Now he is free of insulin injections and all medications for 36 months. This new treatment for type 2 diabetes proved to be a success. This treatment can not probably be used for type 1 diabetics as their immune system may attack and destroy these transplanted cells too but scientists are researching for a stem cell based treatment of diabetes type 1 too.
