Figure Note: Stop-Motion Transformation of DreamStar Toys DST001 Encourager. Gorgeous but flawed. On my final transformation run back to combined mode, one of the hips on the torso finally caught up with all the complaints I’ve seen about that figure: It broke off. I tried gluing it with epoxy, but it wouldn’t hold. So I held the joint together, drilled a pilot hole at a 45 degree angle and put in a screw. So that guy is permanently in torso mode now. If I can’t get replacement parts that’s not the end of the world since that guy is definitely the most unpleasant to transform. Support Note: Like what you see? I’ve noticed that when I fill the turntable for a group 360, it whips by at the edges a bit too fast, so this time I shot the robots 360 using 288 pictures instead of 144. Hopefully that looks better. I shot the 360’s over a few days since it takes so long to transform them all. If you notice a little notch cut out during the team 360 (bottom edge, to the right of center) it’s because I got my fool thumb up into frame while turning the turntable.
