JMT Self-Adjusting Tank Turning Roll in Operation

These rolls are used to rotate a cylindrical work piece during welding (such as the welding of a metal storage tank). This machine is a model TRS44 (formerly RTDZG40) tank roll and can handle a work piece of any size from 23" to 165" and a capacity up to 88,000 lbs. (the cylinder in the video is made from 3" thick steel with a diameter of 51" and is approximately 16,000 lbs. This tank turning roll features a pendant control, dual foot pedals, variable speed adjustment, and is self-adjusting to the work piece (each pair of wheels pivots to adjust to the required diameter). The 4 HP motor drives three independent gear reducers to produce maximum torque to all four drive wheels in the front (the rear wheels are unpowered idler wheels).
