You Are More Than a Test Score: College Admissions | Isabella Neustein | TEDxStThomasAquinasHS

In this Talk, Isabella explores the reasons why college admissions processes should take into consideration more of the student's story rather than only their test scores. Each student is unique and her Talk empowers the youth to "see" themselves as creative individuals ready for an academic career that uploads creativity, individualism, stories, and relationships. Perhaps it is time to take more into consideration when selecting students for their colleges, especially since each student has something unique and powerful to offer that goes beyond a few numbers. It is time to shine light on the identity of students so they can help see themselves as lights for the future. Isabella Neustein is a driven and passionate junior at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. From a young age, Isabella has been captivated by writing, traveling, and public speaking, all of which have inspired her to pursue her dream of one day becoming a published author. Her dedication and commitment to her passions are evident in her involvement in various extracurricular activities, including the forensics speech and debate team, the Care club, Aquinas Kindness, STA serves, and an organization called Cadena, which is focused on giving back to immigrants and those affected by natural disasters. Isabella is also an active volunteer at her local Jewish Community Center, where she is a student leader, and she dedicates her Saturdays to teaching children about the importance of individuality. As the President of Healthy Boundaries, Isabella uses her platform to raise awareness about social media and its impact on mental health.
