🔥 Bristol pirate-radio pressure right at the moment hardcore flipped into jungle. Broadcast on Magnum 104 FM in 1993, DJ Die delivers a heavyweight session capturing the exact crossover point where breakbeat hardcore evolved into early jungle. Raw selections, fast transitions and system-ready bass blasting across the city — this is regional UK pirate radio doing serious damage while the sound was still being written. 📡🌪️💿 🎧 WHAT TO EXPECT 1993 breakbeat hardcore and proto-jungle — chopped amens, rave stabs, deep subs, dark pads, rolling breaks and gritty FM tape texture. Confident blends, forward momentum and that unmistakable Bristol edge as the scene shifted from rave chaos into jungle science. 🥁🔥🔊 👊 WHO IT’S FOR Oldskool hardcore and jungle heads Bristol rave historians Pirate-radio collectors and tape-rip lovers Vinyl DJs studying the hardcore-to-jungle transition New listeners discovering real UK underground roots 👊💚 ⚠️ WHY IT’S ESSENTIAL 1993 is the fault line year — hardcore still raging, jungle emerging with intent. Daniel Robert Kausman (born 13 October 1972), better known by his stage name DJ Die, is an English DJ and music producer. He was a founder of drum and bass label Full Cycle Recordings and a member of Roni Size & Reprazent (1997 Mercury Prize winners) and Breakbeat Era. Kausman spent his formative years in Barnstaple before moving to Bristol in 1985 as a teenager. An early interest in house and hardcore led to a musical partnership with friend Jody Wisternoff (who later formed Way Out West with Nick Warren). Die DJ'd for a brief period with Circus Warp – a free party sound system. After a chance meeting with Roni Size at Bristol's Replay Records store in 1992, this led to their first collaboration in the form of Agility for V Recordings and Die's ongoing contributions to the Full Cycle Recordings catalogue. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DJ_Die Champion Puffa | 1992 Oldskool | Renegade Radio • 🐊 The Champion Puffa | 1992 Breakbeat Hard... Magnum 100 FM first broadcast as SLR, Sophisticated Local Radio, and was linked to the SLR Radio in London. They started in 1990 as SLR for maybe a few days but turned into ‘Magnum Force’ quite quickly. It was originally run by Wile-up and Iroy, but Wile-up seemed to continue alone after a short time. The station, alongside S.P.E.C., they went off the air in December 1991 to seek legality. When they first started, their signal was huge and the jingles proclaimed “The biggest and the best in the south west!” However, this did not last. They changed frequency to 100.4 early on, probably to avoid clashing with Radio 1 on 99.5. After their year off in 1992, they returned in early 1993 on 104 FM. The station was gone again by April 1993, but Wile-up returned the following year with Ragga FM. https://www.thepiratearchive.net/magnum/ Renegade Radio GUEST DJs: • 🎶 Renegade Radio GUEST DJs — Live Sets fro...
