Take a seam but leave a 2 inch gap for the elastic. Step 5: Measure the elastic so it fits around you, and then subtract an inch or two. Work the elastic through the waistband using a safety pin, and then take a seam across the elastic to close off the loop. Take a seam across the opening to close the waistband.
