He has performed over 1900+ hair transplants successfully.   STEPS: GFC Procedure In his introductory note, Dr John Watts explains the steps involved in a GFC procedure starting from using a GFC kit that comes packed with four sterile tubes with added growth activators. He shows one kit to the viewers. Blood Sample Collection: The first step involves the collection of 14-16 ml of blood from the patient in a sterilised environment of the hospital/hair transplant clinic. For this, the medical attendant ties a tourniquet on the arm of the patient and draws blood by inserting a needle. The collected blood is transferred to the four sterilised tubes. Activation of Platelets:  In the next step, Dr John tells the viewers that the blood is kept parked still for 30 minutes and inverted 6-10 times during this period. Separation of GFC:  In the third step, Dr John explains that the collected blood has to be placed in a centrifuge with the four sterile tubes and set for a 10 minute RPM (Rotation Per Minute) @ 3400. Collection of GFC: In the fourth step, the sterile tube is inverted and only the yellowish looking liquid part is collected using an insulin syringe to perform the GFC procedure on the patient in a safe operation theatre environment. What Next? Explaining the next step, Dr John Watts shows the viewers the actual procedure by taking them to the OT room where a patient is getting ready to get the GFC performed while listening to some soothing music.  In the first step, “We administer local anaesthesia on the scalp where GFC has to be injected. We usually administer about 40 units of the yellowish GFC liquid via an insulin syringe,” explained Dr John Watts. During this process, a dermaroller is used and stopped till there is pinpoint bleeding even as the medical attendant keeps the hair combed so that the hair does not get tangled later on. The viewers can see the patient on the OT table not feeling any pain due to the influence of the local anaesthesia.  However, the viewers are advised that to avoid possible infection from the use of dermaroller, they must get the process done only by trained people and in a sterilised atmosphere.  “The entire process of administering GFC gets completed in 1-2 hours but one must choose the right hair expert and the right clinic,” informed Dr John Watts. Conclusion For good results from GFC, Dr John Watts informs the viewers that one must at least attend 5-6 sessions. “GFC always gives better results than a PRP but it is not an alternative to hair transplant,” explained Dr John Watts. If one has baldness, GFC cannot do any miracle and it is not even suggested as it would have no effect at all. “A hair transplant with hair grafts obtained from healthy and non-DHT influenced donor hair is the only option in case of baldness,” says Dr John Watts.
