When I started my flight simulation hobby it was 1982 and the very first flight simulator I used was subLOGIC's FS1 Flight Simulator by Bruce Artwick. running on an Apple II. It was not my computer though as at that time I owned a Commodore VIC20 and, alas, the only "flight simulators" available for it were Ron Wanttaja's IFR Flight Simulator and Anirog's Flight Path 737. The big step forward was Flight Simulator II for Commodore 64 in 1984 and featuring a Piper PA-28-181 Archer II. The giant step forward was in 1987 when it was released the Commodore Amiga version (one of the most amazing and very best, revolutionary, exceptional computer of all times) which featured three aircrafts - Cessna 182RG, Gates Learjet 25G and Sopwith Camel - as well as the scenery for San Francisco bay area. One of the flights I frequently did was a tour over San Francisco bay and flying under the golden gate bridge. I also liked to do aerobatics with the Cessna 182RG - although not the best plane for this purpose - it was however fun. This video is a sort of tribute to those times and those aerobatics flights I did with the Amiga Flight Simulator, this time with the more performing SIAI - Marchetti SF.260 aircraft and FlightGear 2019.1.2, my favorite flight simulator now and which I am using since 1998 in Linux. As the flight maneuvers are quite unorthodox, Red Griffin ATC is warning the aircraft all the time because it is either flying too low or in an unsafe condition. It is normal, at this time, as I am intentionally disobeying any flight standard procedure. SIAI - Marchetti SF.260 implementation in FlightGear has a built in smoking system equipped with the three color of the Italian flag: green, white and red. It is a quite evocative show and I used it during the flight: a tribute to my country, Italy, and a way to say, yes and of course, "Viva l'Italia!" (Long live Italy!, Three cheers for Italy!, Hurrah for Italy!, Up with Italy! To Italy!)
