Skip to 07:10 for P3 Point 5) to skip the theory THEORY 1) Standard ranged weapons always roll their max hit on the void flares (vfs); for example, webweaver with nothing else equipped. However, wearing a magus ring or lightbearer prevents this (hits become RNG). But wearing a quiver corrects this... somehow. Or you can equip an imbued mage cape without a ring equipped. Either way, you lose the max hits needed to 2-hit the 140hp vfs in P1 + P2 so a mage's book is required to compensate. 2) 81hp vfs spawn every 20 ticks; if it spawns on tick 23, subsequent vfs will spawn on ticks ending in 43, 63, 83, 03 etc. and will remain this way throughout all phases. 3) During P3, Yama carries out a repeating 70-tick cycle (credit to Redeyejedi). Importantly, two 71hp vfs will always spawn on tick 57 of this cycle, and these are accompanied by one 81hp vf. However, because 81hp vfs spawn every 20 ticks during the 70-tick cycle, you will usually see one cycle where the 71hp vfs spawn first, shortly followed by the 81hp vf; and on the next cycle you will see the 81hp vf spawn first, shortly followed by the two 71hp vfs. These two cycles will alternate throughout. 4) However, you can get a P3 where all three vfs spawn in on the same tick in one cycle; this is very bad if you don't have a purging staff because aside from the fact you have 20 ticks to deal with all 3, you also can't predict whether a vf is 71hp or 81hp so you may end up 3-hitting a 81hp vf with the ayak, and then you have to waste more ticks with less optimal pathing to the vf(s) on the other side. FOR A CONSISTENT PRACTICE AND MANAGEABLE P3 5) You can prevent this from happening by killing the 2nd judge of yama on certain ticks, therefore you have control over when you start yama's p3 cycle. This means you can control when the 81hp void flares spawn relative to yama's p3 cycle, more importantly tick 57 of her cycle, so you are buying yourself more time when dealing with the 3 vfs. step 1: observe which tick a 81hp vf spawns, when you see its' highlighted tile appear during P1. In my case 1:49 I notice on tick 448. Next spawns will appear in ticks ending in 68, 88 etc. step 2: subtract 18 or add 2, whatever is easier. Here I subtracted from 468, and typed the last two digits, "50" in chat step 3: add 20 in series. In my case, creating numbers 50, 70, 90, 10, 30 step 4: lower the 2nd judge's hp enough to kill it on the next shadow. Stall and when ready, run next to the judge and click to attack on the tick ending in your series of numbers. In my case 07:00 I click on tick 970 step 5: depending on whether the judge instantly dies or death animation is 1 tick longer (not sure why), the first vf will always spawn 1 or 2 ticks before yama starts her cycle (when she starts to click). In my case the vf spawns 2 ticks before she starts. Either way, the spawns will line up so that the 71hp vfs and 81hp vf are offset enough to have more time to deal with. First cycle: 2x 71hp followed by 81hp Second cycle: vice-versa FAQs 1) Why subtract 18? Why add 2? 18 accounts for: the number of ticks from when you click to kill the 2nd judge, to when yama p3 starts; this include the hit delay of the shadow. if i were to finish it with melee it would be 16 instead. the amount of offset you want between the 71s and 81 spawn. When the 71s spawn first, the 81 spawns 2 ticks later; this is enough. Ideally the 81 would spawn 3 ticks later if the judge had insta-died but its OK. Close to the end for example, i wasted 3 ticks and still made it through. Subtracting 18 is more logical than adding 2. Adding 2 is just an easier way to math out your numbers. 2) Can I create a bigger gap between the 71s and 81? Yes, but the more time you add to one cycle, the less time you have for the other cycle, vice-versa. For example, when the 81 spawns first followed by the 71s, I use 2 demonbane hits on the 81 as there is a lot of time. If you close this gap you may have to ww into demonbane while dodging the fires, making it less reclined. Ultimately, it's about what you are comfortable with. rsn: budgeupabit (30 def)
