Suspect Fatally Shot by Deputy After Advancing with Knife

(Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Norco, California — On February 8, 2024, at 6:02 p.m., deputies assigned to the Norco Sheriff's Station were dispatched to the area of Hamner Avenue and 6th Street regarding a subject armed with a knife. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the subject and gave commands to drop the knife. The suspect failed to follow commands and advanced toward the deputies. Deputies deployed a taser, however, the suspect continued to advance toward deputies with the knife, and a deputy-involved shooting occurred. The suspect, 62-year-old Kenneth Soto, resident of Downey, was struck by gunfire. Deputies rendered medical aid, but Soto was pronounced deceased at the scene.
