Kwara Attack: Nigerians React as Tinubu Deploys Army Battalion

Nigerian authorities say they have responded swiftly to an attack this week that claimed nearly 200 lives in the western state of Kwara. The gunmen suspected to be Islamic militants stormed Woro village on Tuesday evening, firing indiscriminately, killing residents, and setting homes ablaze. Witnesses say the gunmen moved from house to house, showing no mercy. Residents were reportedly rounded up, bound, and executed. President Bola Tinubu condemned the attack and ordered the deployment of an army battalion to the area. According to the presidency, the battalion will lead an Operation nicknamed Savannah Shield, to flush out the attackers and protect vulnerable communities.
