Water on the 130 level has proven to be a larger problem than we expected. Some fuzzy math indicates that the water from last year's tremendous monsoon started reaching that level a month or two ago, which lines up with underground observations. Water appears to be infiltrating from two locations: a structure on the main fault dubbed the Watercourse Structure, and a fractured zone to the southwest, which the crew driving the muckbay broke into. We started off with a single 2" diaphragm pump and got discharge rates of 40-60 GPM at the surface. As a second pump hardly burdens the compressor and therefore the generator any more, tying in a second pump moves substantially more water for minimal additional fuel consumption. The floor of the muckbay is below grade even when dug down to bare rock, so we're using a 1" diaphragm to move water from there to the main pumps in the decline. Best of all, the compressor supplies enough air to run a jackleg and the pumps simultaneously.
