The development and implementation of cellular therapies require a multidisciplinary approach, encompassing donor assessment and management, cell acquisition through apheresis, advanced cell therapy laboratories with clean room facilities, and state-of-the-art clinical trial infrastructure with outcome monitoring, often focused on immune response. At LUMC’s Hematology Department, these critical functions and expertise have been strategically integrated, enabling seamless adaptation of the cell therapy pipeline to specific diseases while optimizing processes based on donor and patient characteristics. The department’s unique and versatile section for Donor Care, Apheresis, and the Cell Therapy Laboratory plays a pivotal role in facilitating both standardized treatments and the advancement of new cellular therapies. One of the most groundbreaking developments emerging from this work is a novel TCR-T cell therapy, designed within the department and now approaching clinical implementation as a targeted cure for specific AML variants. https://www.lumc.nl/en/ DISCLAIMER: The information contained in the multimedia content (“Video Content”) the video, description, links, and comments) available at this channel has been made available for informational and educational purposes only.
