Inverearay Castle - Argyll - Scotland

For me it is one of the most beautiful castles of Scotland. Famous seat of Duke of Argyll, head of Clan Campbell located near Inveraray village on shore of Loch Fyne in western part of Scotland. Original castle is dated back to 15th century, however it was completely rebuilt in 18th century and is one of the earliest examples of Gothic Revival. It looks exactly like archetypic fairy-tale castle: built on rectangular plan with four round towers in each corner, all of them with conical roofs. All doors and windows are styled with gothic arches, there is a dry moat, drawbridge-like back entrance and amazing gardens. Interior is also designed with splendour in neoclassical style, with gilding and rich tapestries everywhere you look. Also over 1300 pieces of old weaponry on display in the main hall. Castle is surrounded by beautiful gardens and woodland with amazingly shaped trees. It is definitely worth the £16 of entry fee, providing the weather is good. As you can see there is no drone footage for this castle as the signs 'no-fly zone' are everywhere in the area. Bit sad, as I would love to see it from above.
