RX8 Stock Oil Cooler Max Pressure

Hey there, I decided to do a video on the oil pressure that I saw daily on the RX-8 over this last summer. The only modifications to the oiling system was that the rear bypass oil regulator was crushed to 130psi and the front bypass in the front cover was raised using the washer trick. This car took this oil pressure all summer running 20w-50 oil in the car, absolutely amazing for a stock oiling system in my opinion. Eventually the oil cooler on the driver's side blew due to a cold startup when it was around +3 degrees Fahrenheit outside. I had swapped the oil in the car to 10w-30 by this time and it still happened. It was even colder than 3degF overnight (here in MN it gets cold) and caused the oil to be extremely thick on startup. I estimated the oil pressure on that startup to be around 175psi or higher. I'll maybe get a video done about that here in the future as well. Thanks for watching! Austin
