In today’s video, we look at how to make a schedule and stick to it. We’ll show you a schedule that Jill has used for 40 years, adapting it along the way to make it most efficient for what was happening in her life at that time. Then Tawra shows how she uses a modified variation of this system which she has personalized for her own needs. This system is easily modified to work better with your life whether you’re single, a family with young kids or a retired older person. We also strongly recommend that you try not to be too OCD about every detail of your schedule so you don’t stress about it. The goal is to make your life more efficient. We also take you on a quick tour of some free printable schedules and lists you can download from our website here: http://www.livingonadime.com/spring-c... And we also stress that no matter how much planning you do, the work will never get done unless you just do it, so even though it’s important to have a plan, it’s even more important to follow the plan! You can find all this and more in our Keeping It Clean e-books here: https://www.livingonadime.com/store/k... (* In the video when I mentioned Homemade Cleaning Products, the Cleaning Cents e-book has the cleaning products in it.) Here are some of the things we discuss in this video: 0:33 I have 5 kids and my house is not always perfectly clean, but we can easily pull it together in 30 minutes. 0:52 This is a schedule that helps you keep your house continually clean, but it doesn’t require you to be OCD. It’s very flexible. 1:05 This schedule is easily adaptable to various personalities. 1:24 The only thing that’s going to clean your house is you, not the schedule. 1:36 If you don’t get something done like cleaning the blinds, don’t obsess about it. Just do it next time. You don’t have to be perfectionist about the schedule. 2:10 Just do it! Start cleaning. The schedule won’t help if you don’t do it. 2:30 This is the schedule that Jill has used for 40 years. She has adapted it over the years to make it work better for the various seasons of her life. 2:50 This is the original book I started with and a description of how it is arranged. 3:31 I just bought a little notebook and used the same type of system from my original organizer, modifying it for my needs. 4:17 Tawra shares how she uses the same system but adapts it for her own needs. 5:32 We have a lot of good free printable lists on our website here: http://www.livingonadime.com/spring-c... 5:44 Showing the detailed cleaning list with what to clean for each room of the house. 6:20 I laminated this and then I check off the items so I know what I need to do next. 6;44 More about items on the detailed cleaning list. 7:12 Showing the daily schedule for each person. 7:57 Showing a list for the weeks meal plans and a shopping list for the related items. 8:40 Showing variations on to do lists that are available free on our website. 9:19 Talking about a honey-do list. This handy list will make it easier to get your husband to take care of items than just trying to tell him. Most men work better with lists than verbal requests. 10:16 You can make a million schedules and plans, but it won’t get cleaned unless you actually follow the plan and do it. I don’t feel like doing it every day, but I make it a point to at least do a certain amount and pretty soon I’m inspired to do more. 10:51 You can find all of these free printables on our website here: http://www.livingonadime.com/spring-c...
