Join us for a hike on PRC 38 SMI Lomba d'el Rei. A trek down into a single valley that delivers the potential of some waterfalls, a historic ruin, views over the ocean, and a chance to go under the north highway - all in an hour and a half hike (if you don't take breaks - or as slow as me). Waterfalls are dependant on sourcewater and may not always be enough to provide a full cascata. The trail starts in Achadinha by the church and follows the roads into the nearby farm fields where hiking splits away into nature. The area near Cliff down into the valley can be a little slick, and walking pole could help steady you. Along the ocean is a picnic area that could be good for a rest and snack. Following this area is the hike deeper into the valley. This is where some waterfalls can be seen and an old watermill ruin. Seeing the north highway from underneath is interesting as well - it is a pretty tall bridge over the valley. Next is a switchback hike out of the valley and a walk back through the town to the starting point. This was a quiet trail.
