Took a bit longer than I wanted ....as always ...but it's done! I have to say it is well worth it and I'm very happy with the results. This will give me a radius of about 50 feet all around the shop that will be soaked if it's needed. It's easily accessible for a hose connection off the ground, I can leave it up all year long, it drains down when not used and can be capped so nothing gets in there. This way, during wildfire season, all I have to do is roll out the hose, prime the pump in the lake, and it's ready to go. I'll be adding a much bigger tank to the Honda 2" pump that will be able to hold about 100L. That way I'll either run out of lake or fuel. Next is the doing the same thing on the house, and since that roof is higher, it should give me a bit bigger radius. After that I'll see if there is need for any other locations around the property. Very happy with the result. Cost wise, the most expensive parts were the pipe and weld on fittings, but I bought that in 21 foot lengths from an industrial plumbing supply (Andrew Sheret) in Kamloops. Next were the fittings for all the hose connection which I obtained from another industrial supplier (New Line). The pump and sprinkler heads I bought previously, along with the hose that was $2000. This new addition was under $1000 in materials. So for a total of about $3000 I'll have a full sprinkler/fire prevention system for the buildings that can still be expanded down the line. #buildingafarm #farmlife #smallranch #cabinlife #homesteading #farm #rurallife #wildfire #fireprevention #cariboo
