BJP government in Karnataka dropped 182 cases of hate speech, communal violence | Karnataka Election

The BJP government in Karnataka dropped 385 criminal cases between February 2020 and February 2023. At least 182 of these cases deal with hate speech and communal violence. The BJP governments under BS Yediyurappa and Basavara Bommai had issued seven orders to withdraw cases. The numbers are based on an RTI reply given by the Karnataka Home Department to the Indian Express newspaper.
